THE MIGRATION ANALYSIS OF THE BIOPOLYMER BASED FOOD PACKAGING NANOFILMS

As known, the plastic packaging materials, which are widely used in food packaging in the world, pose a great problem nowadays [1, 2]. The mixing time of plastics with nature can last for centuries. For this reason, antibacterial biopolymer packaging films that do not harm nature and degrade in a short time are very important [2, 3]. In particular, the antimicrobial food packaging films prolong the shelf life of foods by inactivating the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the food product. In this study, biodegradable the corn starch (CS) based nano film (CS1) was synthesized by the plant extract and montmorillonite clay nanoparticles. The corn starch-based nano films were analyzed by using the methods of High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Besides, the antibacterial resistances of the corn starch nano films against the bacteria Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Listeria Monocytogenes were examined The migration assays were carried out to the synthesized nano films, and the results obtained were compared with the literature. According to the results of antimicrobial studies, it has been proven that the plant extract provides positive resistance against bacteria. In the migration analysis results, it was confirmed that the antimicrobial biopolymer food packaging films synthesized were made in accordance with Article 8 of TGK 2013/34.
